Evelene Smith

Evelene (Ramey) Smith passed on April 2 2015 at St Mary’s Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents Alonzo and Dorothy (Wallace) Ramey, a brother John Henry Ramey, a sister Garnet (Sue) Melvin, and the love of her life her husband Carl Hobart (Hobe) Smith Jr. She was born April 29, 1932 in Stilner, WV. She is survived by two sons Hobart Michael (Mike) Smith, his wife Pamela and Jeffrey Alan Smith and his wife Tawna (Shelly) Smith. She left three precious grandchildren Kandace (Kandi) Smith, Jason Smith, Ernie Smith and his wife Kim and a great grandson Kanen Smith. She is dearly loved and missed by many nieces, nephews and a special niece Sandy Fitz. Her two sisters Belverine Fitz and Madeline Ramey reside in Kenova, WV. Evelene is responsible for creating the famous “hot dog sauce” while she was with The Midway Drive Inn. Funeral services will be conducted at 1PM Wednesday at the Jefferson Avenue Church of God by Rev. Paul Farley. Visitation will be 11:00AM-1:00PM Wednesday at the church. Committal service will be at Woodmere Cemetery, Huntington. She will be missed by many. In lieu of flowers make donations in her memory to the charity of your choice.
