Obituary
Betty Eleanor Murphy,
91, of Huntington, widow of Paul Edward Murphy, passed away Sunday April 19,
2015 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral Liturgy
will be conducted at 11 am Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church by Father
Dean Borgmeyer. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens,
Barboursville. She was born December 3, 1923 in Wilsonburg, WV, a daughter
of the late Luke and Nell Merle Fornash McDonough. She was a homemaker and a
lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. In addition to her husband
and parents she was also preceded in death by two sons Mike Murphy and Tom
Murphy and two brothers and three sisters. Survivors include a son Tim
Murphy; six daughters and three sons in law Patty Ogg, Mary Ellen Murphy,
Bridget and Bernard Childers, Paula and Tracy Johnson, Kathleen Breeding and
Colleen and Steve King; twenty three grandchildren; twenty three great
grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; daughters in law Mary Frances
Murphy and Susan Murphy; sister Joan Swann and special family friend
Elizabeth Eshem. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the
Hospice House of Huntington. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Friday at the
Reger Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 5:30 pm Friday at the
funeral home. Contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
