Obituary
Bobby Gene Adkins,
79, of Huntington, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at
the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral services will
be conducted at 11 am Saturday, October 14, 2012 at the Reger Funeral Chapel
by Pastor Ray Williamson. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial
Gardens, Barboursville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Friday at the
Reger Funeral Home. He was born March 19, 1933, the son of the late Enos and
Virginia Adkins. Bobby was preceded in death by his wife Emogene, stepson
Jimmy Zihlman, 12 siblings, Blanch, Beckey, Enos Jr., Ruby, George, Anna
Lee, Ruth, Mamie, Lillian, Arthur, Mabel and Nora. Now their family circle
is complete. Survivors include his children, Tresia Courts, Linda Hess,
Bobby Adkins Jr., David Adkins and Terry Zihlman; 16 grandchildren, 16 great
grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and special friend Retha Guthrie.
He enjoyed playing the harmonica with the Faith Trio gospel group and
attending Church at Faith Freewill Baptist. He retired from Steel of W.V.
and enjoyed fishing and Marshall Football.
