Obituary
Stephen Boyd Markin,
68, of Marietta, Georgia, formerly of Huntington, husband of Virginia McCoy
Markin, died Friday December 28, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services
will be conducted at 1 pm Monday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Janet
Mounts and Rev. Tim Porter. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery,
Proctorville, Ohio. He was born January 10 , 1944 in Huntington, WV a
beloved son of the late Boyd and Chloe Hull Markin. He was a former employee
of Ashland Oil, Southern Airways in Atlanta, GA for five years, Southern
Company of Atlanta, Georgia for 18 years and the Property Tax Assessor for
DeKalb County, Georgia for 10 years having retired in 1997. He was a member
of the Mt. Paran Church of God in Marietta, Georgia. Stephen was a 1966
Graduate of Marshall University and received his Juris Doctorate from
Woodrow Wilson Law School in Atlanta, GA in 1985. In addition to his parents
he was also preceded by a sister Lois Money. Additional survivors include
his son Rodney Scott Evans; daughter in law Kelly Evans and grandson Jesse
Roy Evans all of Panama City Beach, Fla. and a sister Barbara Calhoun of
Huntington. Friends may call from noon until service time on Monday at the
Reger Funeral Home.
