Frieda McCallister
(May 1, 1946 - September 27, 2018)

Frieda Jean McCallister, 72, of Huntington, beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother, died Thursday, September 27, 2018 in St. Mary’s Medical Center.  She was born May 1, 1946 in Huntington, a daughter of the late Edward and Geraldine Marie Haney Meadows.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, Rick Meadows.  Frieda retired after 30 years with C & P Telephone and then its’ successor, Frontier Communications.  She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Tom McCallister; two sons and one daughter, Tommy S. McCallister II of Kernersville, NC, John Wayne McCallister (Gina) of Huntington and Kelly A. McCallister France (Mike) of Huntington; one grandson, Thomas Scott McCallister III of Kernersville, NC and two sisters, Nell Erwin and Vicki Hogsett; and brother in law Johnny McCallister.  Private services will be held for the family.  Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary is assisting the family.
