Bernistine Johnson Gill
(September 10, 1921 - January 28, 2014)

Bernistine J. Gill, 92, of Huntington, died Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, February 3, 2014 at the Woodmere Memorial Park's Abbey of Remembrance by the Rev. Mark Connor. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time. Bernistine was born September 10, 1921 in Huntington, a daughter of the late Leonard and Theodosia Black Johnson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Ray Gill; two sisters, Kay Nicely and Janice Ringle; and a brother, Donald Johnson. She is survived by a brother, Lloyd "Shot" Johnson and his wife Phyllis of Huntington; one niece, Lynne Davis of Leslie, MI; and three nephews, Terry Knight of NC, Chad Johnson of Huntington, WV, Scott Johnson of Bluffton, SC; and several great-nephews. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested memorial contributions be made to the Huntington City Mission or the First United Methodist Church.
