Obituary

Daniel “Uncle Dan” Keith, 84, of Huntington went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation. A memorial service will be 1 pm Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Full Gospel Assembly Church, with Rev. Samuel Moore officiating. Daniel was born April 8, 1924 in Alpine, Alabama, a son of the late Gulley and Artencius Nix Keith. He was retired from CSX Railroad. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle M. Keith; two brothers, S. V. Garrett and Moody Keith; two sisters, Solonia Keith and Irene Garrett; two grand-daughters, Ramonda Washington and Stacey Keith and a Great-grandson De Erin Keith. He is survived by a daughter, Shirley Keith of Richmond, VA; four sons, Danny T. (Rose) Keith, James E. Keith, Toney C. (Norma Jean) Keith, and Tracey L. (Cyndi) Keith all of Huntington; Four brothers, John W. (Retha Mae) Keith of Alabama, M C Keith and W T Garrett both of Huntington and Detrolia (Mary) Garrett of Alabama; three sisters Minnie Lee Jones and Katie Calhoun of Alabama and Annie Laurie Welch of Michigan; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two very special nieces; Vachel Barnes and Robin Lewis. A host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends also survive. The family will receive friends from 11 am until time of service at the church. The family would like to thank the staff of HHR for their care and support. Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
