Obituary
Jerry Douglas Gabbert,
71 of Huntington, WV passed away on Saturday March 21, 2015 at the Emogene
Dolin Hospice House. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.
at Beard Mortuary with Rev. Greg Creasy officiating. Burial will follow in
Ridgelawn Memorial Park. He was born June 23, 1943 in Lewisburg, WV the son
of the late Carl Brown and Emma Doris Gabbert. In addition to his parents he
was preceded in death by a brother, Brown Gabbert. He was a graduate of
Marshall University and was an avid Marshall Football and Basketball fan. He
also was an outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. Jerry was a retired
chief chemist from American Electric Power, Big Sandy Power Plant. He is
survived by his loving family, his wife, Charlotte Noble Gabbert; a son and
daughter-in-law, Mark and Brooke Gabbert of Huntington; a step daughter, Kim
George and her husband, Dr. Eric George of New Orleans, LA; a brother and
sister-in-law, Mike and Jo Ellen Gabbert of Lewisburg, WV; a sister, Myrna
Pritt of Verona, VA; sister-in-law, Norma Gabbert of Lewisburg;
granddaughters, Cassidy and Chloe George; former wife, Emma Gabbert; several
nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The family will receive friends
on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Beard Mortuary.
