Obituary
ANNA RUTH COLLINS,
85, of Huntington, wife of John Thomas Collins, passed away on Tuesday,
March 31, 2015 at the Emogene Dolin-Jones Hospice House in Huntington. She
was born on February 1, 1930 in Wayne County, WV, a daughter of the late
William J.B. and Ruth (Crabtree) Jackson. In addition to her husband she is
survived by a daughter, Anita Carol Michael of Huntington; a son, Johnny
(Carol) Collins of Reynoldsburg, OH; siblings, Mary (Billy) Day, Gladys
Jenkins, Betty Holbrook, Dora Collins, and Hammie Jackson; granddaughter,
Carol Greenlees; great grandchildren, April, Katie and Essie Greenlees and
Julia Henderson; 3 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Collins was a retired
hairstylist, a member of the 5th Avenue Baptist Church and a lifetime member
of the VFW Ladies Aux. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 6,
2015 at 1:00 PM at Beard Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastors Ivan Asbury and
Eddie Gandy officiating. Burial will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park,
Huntington. Visitation will be held one hour before the time of the service
at the mortuary.
