Obituary
Ardella Hevner Alexander,
93 of Ceredo, WV passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Cabell Huntington
Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday June 3, at
the Reger Funeral Chapel by Rev. Tom Nolan. Burial will follow in White
Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Ardella was born July 8, 1921 in
Kline, WV a daughter of the late Verlie and Gladys Calhoun Hevner. In
addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Leason
Alexander. Mrs. Alexander was a charter member of XI Chapter of the Alpha
Delta Kappa International Honorary Organization of Women Educators, the
Lions Club and Westmoreland United Methodist Church. Survivors include, one
son Phillip Alexander and wife Karen of Barboursville, one daughter, Alison
Alexander- Owers and husband James Owers of Athens , GA. She is also
survived by six grandchildren, William (April) Alexander, Wade Alexander,
Wesley Alexander, Katherine Owers, James Owers and Victoria Owers; four
great-grandchilden: Kennedy Alexander, Liam Alexander, Logan Alexander,
Melody Alexander, one sister Chloe Miller of Ohio and a host of nieces and
nephews. The family wants to say a special thank you to caregivers Teresa
Sexton and Kimberly Bailey, as well as several past caregivers over the
years. In addition, a thank you to the care given by Hospice of Huntington.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, June 2nd at the Reger
Funeral Home.
