ROY BRYAN SOWARDS

ROY BRYAN SOWARDS, 89, died Tuesday, January 29, 2019. Born November 9, 1929, he was the son of John LeRoy and Goldie Mae Sibley Sowards, who preceded him in death. Roy retired from INCO communications department. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mary Sue Scott Sowards; two sons, Bryan Scott (Belinda) and David Kirk (Kimmie Jo); one grandson, Andrew F. Bryan Sowards; a brother, Jerry Sowards (Joan); a brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Carrie Black of Glenpool, Okla.; a nephew, Jerry K. Sowards (Bambie); two nieces, Suzane McGuire and Amy Mainprize of Oklahoma; great-nephews, David and Gerry K. Sowards of Huntington, Cale Mainprize, and one great-niece, Kacie of Edmond, Okla. Funeral service will be at noon Saturday, February 2, 2019, at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary by Rev. Bob Withers and Rev. Franklin Murphy. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park.
