Zell Sunderland
(April 13, 1941 - November 29, 2018)

Zell Sunderland, 77, of Huntington, W.Va., died Thursday, November 29, 2018, after a long illness surrounded by her loved ones.  She was born April 13, 1941 in Milton, being the eighth child of the late Ernest Lee and Anna Elizabeth Billups Sunderland.  Zell was an honor graduate of Milton High School and attended Marshall College.  After attaining her CPA Certification, she became a partner with the CPA firm of Diamond & Sunderland and loved encouraging her clients in becoming the best in their respective fields.  She was actively involved in many charitable organizations, but was especially gratified by utilizing her blessings to assist individuals.  Brenda Sue “Susie” Sunderland, Zell’s sister, earned Zell’s life-long dedication and love.  They have made their home together for over fifty years, the last twenty of which have been spent at Whitaker Square, where Neighbors have become loved “family”.  In addition to her parents, Zell was also preceded in death by six of her siblings.  Those left to grieve her absence are Susie Sunderland, Joyce Pauley (James) of Peterstown, W.Va., Patricia Evans of Foley, AL, Jerry Anderson of Scott Depot and Donna Donahue (James) of South Charleston.  Services will be held 2:30 p.m., Sunday at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary by The Rev. Andrew Magnusson.  Interment will follow in Culloden Cemetery.  Friends may call 1:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to Faith-In-Action of the River Cities, 1900 Third Avenue, Huntington, WV 25703.  The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Zell’s team of caregivers; Taleen “Tye” Gibson, Hollie Covington, Kayla Dunfee and Kara Workman who’s care, and love cannot be surpassed.
