    Ourania “Rani” Grambos Forbes,
daughter of Emmanuel and Sultana Grambos died on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at
the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. She was preceded in death by her
beloved husband, Dr. Jack E. Forbes, her brother and sister-in-law, Thomas
and Joyce Grambos, and her unforgettable nephew Emmanuel “Mike” Grambos.
Rani is survived by her cousin, Mary Theodore; her niece by marriage, Susan
Grambos; her niece Cassandra “Sandy” Miller of Dacula, GA; her great
nephews, Christopher Miller of Dacula, GA; Dr. Zachary Grambos and wife
Michelle of Nashville, TN and Heather Anderson of Minneapolis, MN; her
great, great nieces and nephews Kimball M. Utsey, Ashton C. Utsey, Graham
Utsey and Coy Utsey of Minneapolis, MN and her very special friend, Essie
Giles of Willow Wood, Ohio. Mrs. Forbes received her BA and MA degrees from
Marshall University and did post graduate work at Ohio State University, the
University of Chicago and Purdue University. She taught mathematics at The
Marshall University Laboratory School and at the University until her
marriage. She then taught at Shaker Heights, Ohio and co-authored several
mathematics books with her husband. She continued to be involved in her
husband’s writing projects until his death. Since moving back to Huntington
in 1995, she had been an active volunteer with Hospice of Huntington and St.
George Greek Orthodox Church, where she is a member. As per her request,
there will be no visitation and no funeral service. She will be cremated and
her ashes will be scattered in Lake Michigan where her husband’s ashes were
scattered in 1995. Rani left the following note to her family: “ALWAYS
remember that I love each of you dearly, that each of you has enhanced my
life with your special love, and I have had a great life… No Regrets and NO
Tears, Please. Remember me with smiles and laughter because that is how I
will remember you. If you can only remember me with tears, then don’t
remember me at all.” Her family is now left with memories of a special
person, a loving person, a beautiful soul that will be welcomed in Heaven.
May her memory be eternal. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses
and staff of Cabell Huntington Hospital and the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice
House for their care and compassion. Thanks, also to The Village Caregiving
Agency for their wonderful staff and dependable service. Thanks to all who
sent cards, notes, phone calls and to those who spent time with her at The
Hospice House. A special thank you goes to Jane Sawyers. Remembrances may be
made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church and to Hospice of Huntington
