Billy Frank Painter

Billy Frank Painter, 87, of Huntington, died Monday, February 15, 2016. He was born April 7, 1928 in Shenandoah Virginia, the son of the late Fred Painter and Iva Phillips Painter and the brother of the late Fred Painter, Jr. He attended Johnson Memorial Methodist Church. In 2012 he retired from the United States Postal Service where he was a senior Postal Clerk for over 45 years. He served with honor in the United States Army during the Korean War and was awarded the Bronze Star for his heroism under enemy fire. Surviving are his two beloved nephews, David Fredrick Painter and his wife Sherry of Boynton Beach, Florida and James Morgan Painter, of Boca Raton, Florida; one grand nephew, five grand nieces, three great grand nieces and two great grand nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary by the Rev. Joe Hill. Interment will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park. Friends may call at 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
