Elizabeth Cottrill Sammons
(March 20, 1953 - December 11, 2012)

Elizabeth Cottrill Sammons, 59, of Huntington, died Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at home. Elizabeth was born March 20, 1953 in Madison, W.Va. a daughter of the late Arthur Eugene Cottrill and Laura Jo White Cottrill of Huntington. She was a graduate of Marshall University with a BS in Counseling and Rehabilitation. A member of Beverly Hills United Methodist Church, Board of Directors of Faith In Action and the Beverly Hills Garden Club. She was also very active with Hospice of Huntington, Ronald McDonald House and many other organizations. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Frederick H. Sammons Jr.; one son and one daughter, Drew (Kristin) Sammons of Frankfort, Ky. and Maggie (Jeremy) Sammons Adams of Huntington; three grandchildren, Josie Marie Adams, Karson Andrew Sammons and Karlie Ruthann Sammons; a sister, Martha Cottrill Dixon of Jacksonville, Fla. and nieces and nephews, Aimee Elizabeth Dixon-Johnson, Christopher Cottrill Dixon, Meghan Elizabeth Johnson and Zachary Paul Johnson. Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Beverly Hills United Methodist Church by the Rev. William Haynes Jr. Interment will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park. Friends may call Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary.
