Laura Jo Cottrill

Laura Jo Cottrill, 85, of Huntington, died Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born December 19, 1926 in Van, W.Va., a daughter of the late Orville Dewey and Maggie Elizabeth Dickens White. She was retired from the former Stone and Thomas Department Store and was a member of Beverly Hills United Methodist Church, where she was a dedicated and faithful member since 1956.In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Cottrill Sammons. She is survived by a daughter, Martha Cottrill Dixon of Jacksonville, Fla.; four grandchildren, Maggie Sammons Adams, Drew Sammons, Christopher Cottrill Dixon and Aimee Elizabeth Dixon Johnson; five great grandchildren, Josie Marie Adams, Karson Andrew Sammons, Karlie Ruthann Sammons, Meghan Elizabeth Johnson and Zachary Paul Johnson, and her best friend Donna Glover. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Beverly Hills United Methodist Church by the Rev. William Haynes Jr. and Rev. Suzanne Ellis. A gathering of family and friends will follow. Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary is assisting the family.
