    Weintraub Wucher 
    (May 3, 1913 - October 3, 2011)
     
    Violet Weintraub Wucher, 98, of 
    Huntington, W.Va. beloved wife of the late Mordecai Wucher died on October 
    3, 2011 in Huntington. She was born in Bridgeport, CT. on May 3, 1913 to the 
    late Bela and Terez Weintraub. Violet was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport 
    and Fairfield, CT. who moved to Huntington, W.Va. in 2006. She was a Special 
    Education Teacher in Middletown, Fairfield and Bridgeport public schools for 
    40 years. She was a graduate of Bridgeport Normal School and New Haven State 
    Teachers College from which she received her Bachelor of Science Degree. 
    Violet was a past president of Bridgeport Special Education Association, 
    B'nai B'rith International (Harmony Chapter), Congregation Ahavath Achim 
    Sisterhood, Shimshon Youth Organization and AMIT Women. She was a member of 
    many other organizations in Connecticut and was active in B'nai Sholom 
    Sisterhood and Hadassah in Huntington. Violet was an avid traveler, having 
    traveled to nearly every state and many other countries. She loved her 
    family very much and loved her kewpie dolls, teddy bears and Star Trek.  
    Violet is survived by her son and daughter–in-law, Rabbi David and Tori 
    Wucher of Huntington, Her grandchildren Glenda Wucher Bernhardt and husband 
    Brian Bernhardt of Charlotte, NC. and Aliza Wucher of Huntington; two great 
    grandchildren, Jacob Edward Bernhardt and Jonah Benjamin Bernhardt both of 
    Charlotte; her sister–in-law Susan Weintraub and her daughters Janet Barker 
    and Tina Costello, And a very special niece Cathy Velenchik Joy and her 
    husband Dr. Chaim Joy. Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 
    2011 at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary by Rabbi David E. Wucher. Interment will 
    be 2:00 p.m. Thursday in Ahavath Achim Cemetery, Fairfield, CT. Friends may 
    call Tuesday, 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Donations 
    can be made to B'nai Sholom Congregation of Huntington, W.Va. or the charity
