Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Cogill
(December 16, 1923 - February 25, 2011)

Elizabeth Jane Cogill, 87, of Huntington, died Friday, February 25, 2011 in St. Mary’s Medical Center. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2011 by Rev. Dan Spreaker at Klingel Carpenter Mortuary. Jane was born December 16, 1923 in Spencer, WV, daughter of the late Howard and Flora Summerville McCoy. Mrs. Cogill was retired from the Corps of Engineers with 38 years of service. She was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and attended Mountain State Business College in Parkersburg. After retirement, she was Housemother for the Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority from 1984 to 1997. Member of the First United Methodist Church and the Vagabonds, the American Business of Womens Association and also volunteered several years at the Ronald McDonald House. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and Steve Zickefoose of Huntington and Linda Lee and Tom Chandler of Freedom, IN; Four granddaughters, Amy Lee Meehling and husband Roger of Barboursville, Carrie Ann Prather and husband Chad of Morgantown, WV, Lara Leah Farmer and husband Roger of Bailey, CO and Tracey Lynn Lackman and husband Mike of Holt, MI; and nine great-grandchildren, Madison, Ashton and Macie Meehling, Haley Prather, Caitlin, Riley and Zachary Farmer and Katie and Ryan Lackman In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Ronald McDonald House of Huntington.
