Estelle Smith Sullivan Churton, 97, of Huntington, died Monday, September 27, 2010 at her residence. Funeral service will be held 11 A.M., Thursday, September 30 at Klingel Carpenter Mortuary by the Rev. Skip Seibel. Estelle was born April 4, 1913 in Alton, FL, a daughter of the late Wallace and Stella Sullivan. She is also preceded in death by her husband John B. Churton. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Civic League and a member and first president of the Cabell Huntington Auxillary. Estelle also assisted in establishing Bix Furniture Service. She is survived by a daughter, Sandy Pyle and husband Joseph W. of Huntington; a son, John B. Churton, Jr. and wife Peggy D of Pittsburgh, PA; 4 granddaughters, Margaret “Peggy” Rutherford and husband Donald of Huntington, Penny Pyle Taylor and husband Larry of Wilmington, DE, Molly Churton Bopp and husband Tom of Boston, MA, and Emily Churton of Pittsburgh, PA; two grandsons, Bryan K. Pyle and wife Donna of Mercer, PA and John “Jake” Churton of Pittsburgh, PA; and 8 great-grandchildren, Dorothy Estelle Lyons of Columbus, OH, Calvin A. Taylor of Wilmington, DE, Savannah C. Rutherford of Huntington, Nicholas R. Taylor of Wilmington, DE, Rebecca Jo Rutherford of Huntington, Chloe Bopp, Lincoln Bopp and Truman Bopp, all of Boston, MA; a nephew, Bruce and Barb Churton of Huntington; a sister-in-law, Martha Churton of Huntington; and Pete Churton and wife of Beaumont, TX. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 29 at the funeral home.
