Joan Crawford Washington

Joan Crawford Washington, 79, formerly of Huntington, went to be with The Lord on March 2, 2010 after a long illness in Atlanta, GA. Joan is preceded in death by her mother Belva Clark and father Nelson Bickley Sr. She was retired from the VA Regional Medical Center, Huntington. Left to morn her passing are four children, Lavonda “Bunny” Thacker of Columbus, OH., James D. Hurse Sr. (Roxanne) of Marion, OH., Sheila Cooper-Overton (Dennis) of Fredericksburg, VA; Natalie Brewton (Leon) of Spartansburg, SC.,special granddaughter Sonya Hurse; her loving brother Nelson Bickley Jr (Ancella) of The Villages, FL.; ten Grandchildren, 12 great-grand-children;2 nieces, great nieces and nephews and additionally 3 special step-daughters, Margaret, Kay, Natalie Washington. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the Encouragers Fellowship Church, Huntington, with visitation noon until service time. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Klingel Carpenter Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
