	Mary Margaret Rice, 95 of Huntington, 
	WV passed away, Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice 
	House, Huntington, WV. She was born June 11, 1927 in Huntington, WV the 
	daughter of the late John Roy and Grace Adams Scott. She was a homemaker, a 
	breast cancer survivor, survived the depression and the 1937 flood. She was 
	very creative, great at sewing, a tenacious woman who also loved her sweets. 
	She loved animals and birds with Cardinals being her favorite. More than 
	anything, she was a lifelong lover of God and enjoyed Christian radio. In 
	addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard 
	Cecil "Pete" Rice; sister, Ruth L. Scott; brother, John Roy “Jack” Scott, 
	Jr.; son-in-law, Greg Perry and her grandson, Noah Anthony Hutchinson. She 
	is survived by one son, Richard (Kathy) Rice of Batavia, OH; three 
	daughters, Karen Rice of Barboursville, WV, Nancy (Terry) Carpenter of South 
	Point, OH and Kim (Jimmy) Ginther of Delaware, OH; grandchildren, Dr. Chris 
	(Carolyn) Rice, Emily Crawford, Staci Perry, Krystal (John) Kay and Sonny 
	Carpenter; great-grandchildren, Mya Crawford, Carson Rice, Avalyn Rice, 
	Teagan Rice, Tanner Perry Muskett, Regina Scarberry, Katelyn Kay and Charlie 
	Kay. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 24, 2022 
	at Henson and Kitchen Mortuary, 6357 E. Pea Ridge Rd. Huntington, WV near 
	Barboursville with Pastor Brady Lipscomb officiating. Burial will follow in 
	Oaklawn Cemetery, Huntington, WV. The family will receive friends from 1:00 
	PM until 2:00 PM service time at Henson and Kitchen Mortuary. The family 
	would like to extend a special thank you to Barbara Farley who always did 
	her hair; thank you to the caring doctors at HIMG who took good care of her 
	through the years; the neighbors on her road who looked out for her; the 
	home health care workers who kept her going this last year; and a special 
	thank you to the ladies at the Barboursville Senior Center who prepared
