Sharolyn Melody (Gibson) Scites

Sharolyn Melody Scites, 61, of Ona, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, August 11, 2017.  She was born September 9, 1955 in Hurricane, WV, a daughter of Maxine Rice Gibson and the late Rev. Charles David Gibson.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, Phillip Scott “Moose” Gibson.  Sharolyn loved gospel music and enjoyed the Gaither gospel programs so much.  She was so kind to animals and dearly loved and cherished her dogs, Muffy and Hans.  In addition to her mother, she is survived by five sisters, Sandy Reffitt of Ashland, KY, Terry Gibson of Lexington, KY, Rhonda Simmons (Roger) of Barboursville, Mendy Miller (Gary) of Milton and Lisa Manning (Jesse) of Milton; her ex-husband, Paul David Scites of Ona; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and a great-great niece; special cousins, Joyce Gibson and Catherine Davis, whom she loved like sisters and a host of family, friends and coworkers she dearly loved.  Sharolyn was a kind and loving person who will be missed by all who knew her.  Her final act of kindness was being a donor.  Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, where funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Bob Ray officiating.  Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville.
