Obituary

 Sherman William Adkins, 60, of Huntington passed away Saturday, August 16, 2008 at his residence. He was born June 2, 1948 in Huntington a son of the late Norman Adkins and Hazel R. Wells Adkins Scarberry. He was proud to have served his country as a supply clerk in the United States Army. Sherman is survived by his step-father Hartley Scarberry; his loving wife of 39 years Kum Sun “Sandy” Adkins; three daughters, Sharon (Kevin) Byrd of Huntington, Lisa (Patrick) O’Toole of South Elgin, IL and Mary (James) Jones of Huntington; four sisters, Sharon Morris, Karen Smith, Sherry Roberts and Carla Adkins; one uncle, Keith Adkins of North Carolina and six very special grandchildren; Tessa Jones, Kevin Byrd II, Kalin Byrd, Samia Byrd, Eddie Brinkley III and Dylan O’Toole. There will be a private memorial service for family and friends held at a later date. Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home is assisting the Adkins family.
