Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Bass, 75, of Huntington, passed away Sunday September 14, 2007 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 noon Saturday, September 22, 2007 at the Original Glorious Church of God in Christ at 1516 10th Ave. in Huntington with Bishop John Grant of Beckley, WV and Elder Gary Brydie of Huntington officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Huntington. She was born January 31, 1932 in Edwhite, WV to the late Leroy and Mary Schurry Lindsay. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Syd Schrice Bass and a son, Michael Aguster Bass. After completing her education she moved to New York where she worked as a clerk for the Mayor of Brooklyn for several years. She was a member of The Glorious Church of God in Christ in South Charleston, WV. Mary is survived by her husband of 42 years; Bishop Sidney A. Bass of Huntington, five brothers; Bishop Perry Lindsay Sr., Leroy Lindsay, and Joseph Lindsay all of Brooklyn, NY, Clinton Lindsay of Florida and Theodore Lindsay of upstate New York, two sisters; Fannie Mae Groves of Brooklyn, NY and Bessie Miller of Columbus, OH. Visitation will be 10 am until time of service at the church. Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
