    James Allen Clayborn  
 
      Mr. James Allen Clayborn, 58, departed this life 
      Sunday April 15, 2007. Jim was born in Williamson, WV on April 19, 1948, 
      the fifth of eleven children to Preston, Sr. and Elizabeth (Wells) 
      Clayborn. Jim accepted Christ as his savior at an early age. He was a 
      graduate of Liberty High School in Williamson, WV. He was a proud veteran 
      of the U.S. Air Force having served two tours of duty in Vietnam, 
      enlisting after graduating high school. Jim was a member of the American 
      Legion post #0047. He attended Marshall University in Huntington, WV, and 
      was employed with Mountaineer Gas Company, where he retired in 2003 after 
      29 years 10 months of service. He was affectionately known by all within 
      the community as "gas man". Jim was joined in marriage to Mary Wright in 
      1977. He was preceded in death by his father, Preston Clayborn Sr., his 
      mother, Elizabeth (Wells) Clayborn, and his sister, Esther Gilmore. Left 
      to cherish his memory are his three daughters, Diedra Wright, of the U.S. 
      Naval Force, U.S.S. Enterprise Group, Norfork, VA; Carolyn Wright of 
      Huntington, WV; Kristona Clayborn of Huntington, WV; two grandchildren, 
      Josh Wright and Jayln Wright both of Huntington, WV; five brothers, 
      Preston Jr (Marcella) Clayborn of Huntington, WV; William (Barbara) 
      Clayborn of Saint Albans, WV; Charles (Diane) Clayborn of Sevierville, TN; 
      Marvin (Bridgett) Clayborn of Pittsburgh, PA; Michael (Wilhelmina) 
      Clayborn of Douglasville, GA; and four sisters, Mary Campbell of Richmond, 
      VA; Queen Brown of Beckley, WV; Sarah Dotson (Daniel) Dotson of Lexington, 
      KY; and Mavis Savoy of Fayetteville, NC; aunt, Frances Wells of 
      Youngstown, OH; ex wife, Mary Clayborn; a dear and sincere friend Cynthia 
      Lemon; Cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, other 
      relatives and a host of true and loyal friends. Jim was a private man and 
      a great family man. He was a loving father, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle 
      and friend. He loved the outdoors and life in general. The family will 
      sadly miss him and I'm sure he will be missed by all. Graveside services 
      will be held 11:00 am Tuesday April 24th at Spring Hill Cemetery. The 
      procession will leave from Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home at 10:30 am.
