Obituary
GARY “RABBIT” TANNER,
75 of Huntington, WV passed away on Wednesday May 14, 2014 at the Emogene
Dolin Hospice House. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at
Beard Mortuary with Rev. Ron Burnsworth officiating. Burial will follow in
Woodmere Memorial Park. He was born August 5, 1938 in Ponca City, OK the son
of the late Walter and Orene Jones Tanner. In addition to his parents he was
preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Mae “Duckie” Tanner and a son Curtis
Tanner. He was retired from Ashland Oil and was an Army veteran. He is
survived three daughters, Cheryl (Zubian) Shamsher of Texas; Melynda Tanner
of Huntington and Andrea (Mark) McComas of Huntington; five grandchildren;
two great-grandchildren, grandpup, Sir Nosey Niles; a brother Waylon (Doris)
Tanner of Kalamazoo, MI; niece and nephews, Debbie, Wayne and Craig and a
host of friends. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hospice
of Huntington. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5-7 p.m. at
Beard Mortuary.
