Stephen Paul "Bub" Amis, 37, of Kenova, WV went home to be with the Lord Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at the England Hill Freewill Baptist Church, Catlettsburg, KY by his cousin Jeremy Carter. Burial will follow at Docks Creek Cemetery, Maple Hill Section, Kenova, WV.
He was born October 16, 1980 in Huntington, WV the son of Stephen Ray and Patricia Lynn Eskins Amis of Kenova. He was a physical therapist assistant at the Valley Center, South Charleston, WV and he was a former youth pastor at Westmoreland Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Wanda and Paul Eskins and his paternal grandfather Oley Amis. In addition to his parents he is survived by his paternal grandmother Betty Lee Amis; a son Colton Jacob Amis; daughter Sophia Michelle Amis; sister and brother in law Carrie LaDawn Merritt (Shawn); Nana Becky Whitt and special aunt Pam Carter (Larry); niece Brynleigh Merritt. Friends may call from 5-8 pm Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the Reger Funeral Home and after 1:00 pm Wednesday at the church.
