Obituary
Clara Ellen Woods,
76, of Ceredo, WV, widow of Chester Woods, passed away Saturday June 7, 2014
at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 pm
Tuesday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Minister David Roach. Burial will
follow in Spring Valley Memory Gardens, Huntington. She was born August 3,
1937 in Wayne County, WV, a daughter of the late Ollie and Phoebe Staley
Smith. She was a Registered Nurse with the former C&O Hospital and retired
from the Mildred Mitchell Bateman Hospital. She was a member of the Ceredo
Church of Christ and Clara was a lifelong resident of the Ceredo area and as
a nurse was a very caring person to her patients and family. In addition to
her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a sister Wanda Thacker.
Survivors include two sons and daughters in law James and Kimberly Woods of
Kenova, WV and Robert and Catrina Woods of Fredericksburg, VA.; a daughter
and son in law Karen and Paul Neal of Roanoke, VA; six grandchildren and
spouses David and Kristy Woods of Huntington, Chris Woods of Kenova, Adam
and Heather Woods of Spotsylvania, VA, Courtney Wolfrey of Manassas, VA and
Daniel and Lisa Neal of Covington, VA; brother and sister in law Keith and
Debra Smith of Huntington and three nieces and two nephews. Friends may call
from 1:30 pm until service time on Tuesday at the Reger Funeral Home.
