Obituary
Donald Shilling,
86, of Huntington, WV passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at the
Huntington VA Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday,
December 21, 2013 at noon at Christ the King Lutheran Church by Pastor Carl
Ames. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memory Gardens. Military services
will be conducted by Veterans Honor Guard of American Legion Post 16 of
Huntington, WV. Donald was a retired signalman and a veteran of the US Navy
having served in WWII. He was born on April 20, 1927 in Palestine, IN the
son of the late Hubert and McColl Shilling. In addition to his parents he
was preceded in death by his wife Nell Marie Smith Shilling. He is survived
by his two sons David and Charles Deering and daughter Elizabeth Midkiff,
one brother and sister; Phil Shilling and Ella Mae Ransbottom. Numerous
grandchildren. Friends may call from 11:30until service time Saturday at the
Christ the King Lutheran Church: 5700 Route 60 East, Huntington, WV. Reger
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
