Ila Lee Drown

Ila Lee Drown, 75 died peacefully at home in Huntington, WV on Thursday, December 01, 2016. Funeral services will be held at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary at 6 PM, Friday, December 9, 2016 with visitation two hours prior to the service conducted by Reverend Mark Conner. She was a lifelong Huntingtonian having graduated from Huntington High School, Class of 1961. As a mother and homemaker she was involved in many organizations including Junior Woman’s Club and Woman’s Club, PEO Sisterhood, Red Cross, Ronald McDonald House, Regency Dance Club, River Magic Chorus, TNPC Wives and she was an avid Marshall Sports fan. Ila Lee was preceded in death by her parents Ila Bernice Dalton Stewart and Robert Lee Stewart. She will be missed by her husband, Richard Drown, her sons Charles M. Adkins (Jana) and Robert Lee Adkins. She was known as Nana, by her grandchildren; Chase, Chloe and Judd and her great grandson Dominic Chase; who were the loves of her life. She will also be missed by her many friends some of whom spent hours by her bedside during her illness. The family would like to especially thank her dear friend Cathy Brammer who spent countless hours using her nursing skills to keep Ila Lee as comfortable as possible and providing much appreciated support to the family.
