    James Edward Turner

    James Edward Turner, 81, loving 
    husband, father, and grandfather passed away Wednesday October 21, 2015 at 
    the Golden Rose Personal Care Home in Marietta, GA surrounded by his three 
    loving daughters. Jim “Ed” was born on July 31, 1934, in Sugar Hill, 
    Georgia, a son of the late Pascus G. Turner and Era Mae Turner. Services 
    will be held at noon, Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at Klingel Carpenter 
    Mortuary by the Rev. Karen Kidd Lovett. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM – 
    noon. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. Jim “Ed” 
    spent the majority of his working life in the furniture business, 
    highlighted by tenures at Star Furniture, Big Sandy, and York’s TV and 
    Appliance. He was an avid sports fan, in particular Marshall University 
    football. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving 
    wife of 51 years, Carol Turner and two brothers: Jack Turner and Rufus 
    Turner. He graduated high school and went on to attend West Georgia College 
    in Carrollton, GA. He is survived by three daughters and their spouses: Lisa 
    and David Diaz of Marietta, GA, Cheryl and Danny Head of Clermont, GA and 
    Jamie and Peter Lovett of Louisville, KY, three grandsons, Campbell Diaz(16) 
    and Turner Stapleton(22) of Marietta, GA, Alec Lovett(7 mos.) of Louisville, 
    KY, a granddaughter, Adrianne Phagan(29) of Clermont, GA, and three 
    sister-in-laws, Eva Lively of Huntington, WV, Martha Qualls of Milton, WV 
    and Louise Nichols of Columbus, GA as well as many nieces and nephews, and 
    his canine companion Scout.
