Mary Ellen Shy
(December 26, 1934 - April 5, 2015)

Mary Ellen Shy, 80, of Huntington, WV, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Heartland of Riverview, South Point, OH. She is survived by three children, Cindy Dixon of Huntington, WV; Mark Bergquist of McConnellsburg, PA and Jon Bergquist and wife Missy of Huntington, WV; four grandchildren, Melissa Reynolds of Huntington; Jessica Price and husband Matt of Pittsburgh, Pa; Andrew Bergquist of Morgantown, WV and Ian Bergquist of Huntington, WV; a great-grandchild expected in May; a sister, Daphne McGregory of Olympia, WA; a brother Gilbert Wells and wife Shirley of Parma, Idaho. Mary is preceded in death by her husband George Shy. Mary received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Marshall University and worked as an RN at Cabell Huntington Hospital for 30 years. She was an active member of the Westmoreland United Methodist Church. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Spring Valley Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
