    Bernadine Sullivan Murphy, 
    92, of Huntington, died Sunday, June 20 in the company of her son and 
    daughter. She was born in Richwood, West Virginia on August 2, 1917. She was 
    a graduate of Richwood High School, and Charleston College of Commerce. She 
    was married in 1937 to the late Laurence James Murphy and has lived in 
    Huntington for nearly 70 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, 
    her sons Laurence James Murphy, III and Thomas Patrick Murphy, her parents 
    Thomas Patrick and Susan Corkrean Sullivan as well as her brothers Lewis, 
    Harry and Phillip Sullivan. She is survived by her sister Mary Dolores 
    Taylor of Morristown, Tennessee, her son Phillip David Murphy and his wife 
    Bing McGinnis Murphy of Charleston, West Virginia, her daughter Mary Anne 
    Russell and her husband John of Huntington, and grandchildren David Murphy 
    and his wife Christy of Lansing, Michigan, Jim Murphy and his wife Cassie of 
    Ashland, Kentucky, Beth Murphy Roberts of Cattletsburg, Kentucky, Connie 
    Bensinger and her husband Greg of Lansing, Michigan, Christina Murphy of 
    Jefferson City, Tennessee, Pam Oakes and her husband Keith, of Jefferson 
    City, Tennessee, Ashley Murphy Higuera and her husband Carlos of Cuernavaca, 
    Mexico, Grant McGinnis Murphy of Acworth, Georgia, and Meredith Sullivan 
    Murphy of Lakewood, Colorado as well as 13 great-grandchildren. She was an 
    office assistant and bookkeeper for Corkrean’s Accounting Office, Dr. 
    Willard Daniels and for Coffee Surgical Office as well as Drs. Woelfel and 
    Wassum. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America over 60 years 
    and Sacred Heart Church. Christian wake service will be Friday, June 25 from 
    6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the rosary at 8:00 p.m.at 
    Klingel-Carpenter Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred 
    Heart Church with burial following at Spring Hill Cemetery.
