    Vernon J. "Bud" Baarman, 
    82, of Huntington, formerly of Michigan, died Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 
    St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born January 12, 1928 in Grand Rapids, 
    Michigan, son of the late Kryn and Kathryn Aldering Baarman. He was a 
    graduate of Calvin College in Grand Rapids where he received his BA and 
    Marshall University where he received his MBA. He was the Director of 
    Manufacturing for Chemetron and retired as Vice President of Manufacturing 
    for Sandoz. Bud was a member of Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church where he 
    was an Elder and had recently  
    enrolled in the Lay Academy to pursue a study of church history and 
    Philosophy. He also served on the Finance and Development Committee for the 
    Presbytery of WV, and was a member of the Rotary Club of Huntington, City 
    Club and the Big Green. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death 
    by his wife, Carol Jean Baarman and son, Scott Alan Baarman. He is survived 
    by a son and daughter, Tom Baarman and his wife Gretchen of Belmont, 
    Michigan and Sharon Rowsey of Huntington. He also is survived by six 
    grandchildren, Mark Rowsey and his wife Kerri, David Rowsey, Matthew Rowsey, 
    Kevin Rowsey, Courtney Baarman Kountz and her husband Terry, and Kelly 
    Baarman; and three great grandchildren, Xavier Rowsey, Chase Rowsey and 
    Braden Kountz; one sister, Janice Visser of Jenison, Michigan; one brother, 
    Norm Baarman of Dunedin, Florida and a sister-in-law, Audrey Wyma of Vero 
    Beach, Florida. Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2010 at 
    the Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Cinda Harkless 
    officiating. Entombment will follow in Ridgelawn Abbey of Devotion. Friends 
    may call Monday 1:00 p.m. until service time. Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary is 
    in charge of arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Beverly 
    Hills Presbyterian Church.
