Obituary
Vaughnia Lee Roberts Adkins,
89 of Huntington, WV passed away, Sunday, June 7, 2020 at home. She was born
May 17, 1931 the daughter of the late Locey and Vaughnia Garrett Roberts.
She was a homemaker, quilted for charity with the Quilters Club, worked and
sewed with the Purple Bag Ministry for Zambia and most recently helped make
face masks for the covid-19 pandemic. In addition to her parents, in 2019
she was also preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Orville
Millington Adkins; six sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her
three children; Demmie Darlene (David) Webb, Cassandra Lee (David) McMellon
and Dale (Alma) Adkins; one sister, Beulah "Boots" Blain; sister-in-law,
Shirley Roberts and five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday June, 11, 2020
at Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, WV with Pastor David Lemming
officiating. Burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may
be made to Hospice of Huntington. Henson and Kitchen Mortuary, 6357 East Pea
Ridge Road, Huntington, WV is caring for the family.
