Obituary
Minnie Ethel Long Armstrong, 89 of
Huntington, W.Va. went to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 14, 2018. She
was born July 8, 1928 in Boone County, W.Va. the daughter of the late Haston
and Doshia Nelson Long. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in
death by her loving husband, Clifford J. Armstrong; ten brothers and sisters
and two infant children, Steven and baby girl Armstrong. She was a
homemaker, previously worked at Special Metals as a cook and was a member of
New Life Church. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Sandra and
John Mathews and Patricia Vance all of Huntington, W.Va; one sister, Luria
Thompson of Cleveland, OH; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and
two great-great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Funeral
services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at
Henson and Kitchen Mortuary, East Pea Ridge Road, Huntington, W.Va. near
Barboursville with Pastor Darrell Huffman, Bob Gillette and Joe Stowers
officiating. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, W.Va.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Thursday at
the mortuary.
