Dorothy Lee (Douglas) Jarvis
(March 19, 1926 - June 9, 2015)

It is with great sadness to the family that Dorothy Lee Jarvis in her 94th year, following a long struggle with Alzheimer’s, has gone to be with the Lord on June 9th at the Country Club Retirement Center in Bellaire, Ohio.  She was born March 19, 1926 to the late Benjamin and Goldie Smith Douglas in Huntington, WV.   Mrs. Jarvis was a retired office manager for The Louis Marx Toy Factory in Glen Dale, WV.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Warren Layne Jarvis; her second husband, Marvin Reid; daughter Rita Jarvis Takach in 2004; brothers; James and Charles (Evelyn) Douglas and sisters Maxine, Emogene and Kathleen.  She is survived by her daughter Sandra (Douglas) Paisley; three grandchildren, Brad Douglas (Kimberly) Paisley, Christy Renee’ Takach; and Lisa Takach (Clifford) Tucker; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  A private funeral service was held for the family at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Pastor Greg Lunsford officiating.  Burial followed in Milton Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association | 225 N. Michigan Avenue, 17th FL | Chicago, IL 60601, the Glen Dale Volunteer Fire Department, or the Glen Dale United Methodist Church.
