Delmar R Stanley
(September 15, 1924 ~ February 23, 2017)

Delmar R. Stanley, 92, of Milton passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 at his residence.  He was born September 15, 1924, a son of the late Lucian and Margaret Stanley.  He was also preceded in death by his son, Stephen Allan Stanley; one brother and one sister.  Delmar was a World War II veteran of the United States Army and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 139, Milton.  He is survived by his wife, Rose Stanley; daughter, Jamie (Joe) Waugh of Milton; son, Delmar Jr. (Cindy) Stanley of Milton; five grandchildren, Darin (April) Stanley, Melanie Stanley, Monica Stanley, Joshua Waugh and Jazmine Waugh, all of Milton; four great grandchildren, Dru Stanley of Charlotte, NC, Tavern Stanley of Milton, Tabetha Brunty of Huntington and Samantha Laverty of Milton; one great great granddaughter, Avery; and a special sister-in-law, Gladys Johnson of Milton.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, February 27, 2017 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 28 at the funeral home with the Rev. Tom Hantak officiating.  Military honors will be performed by the American Legion Post 139.  Burial will follow in Balls Gap Cemetery.
