Phyllis J. Hickman, 74, of Milton, WV is at rest after a 10 year battle with cancer. She met her Savior on Monday, April 11, 2011. She was born November 7, 1936 in Huntington, WV, a daughter of the late Oval and Jewell Alford White. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amber Lee Hickman. She was a member of Milton Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was retired from J.P. Morgan Chase Banks. She will be missed by her husband, Floyd “Jack” Hickman; her children, Randy Hickman and Benita Ryalls, both of Milton; her grandchildren, Cassie Ryalls of Asheville, NC, Zach Ryalls of Brooklyn, NY and Jasmin Chaney of Culloden, WV; two cousins who were like siblings, Geraldine Carter of Phoenix, AZ and Kenneth White of Port Orange, FL and many other special family members and friends. She had a special way of loving and caring for others – if you knew her, you were blessed. Funeral service will be held Friday, April 15, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Milton Baptist Church with the Rev. Tracy Mills officiating. Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 14 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
