      Obituary

    Minnie Lee
	Canady
	(January 23, 1931 - February 19, 2020)

Evangelist Minnie Lee Canady, 89, of
Huntington, WV, the lighthouse of her family, entered into her Eternal life
with our Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, February 19, 2020.  She was the
lighthouse of her family. She was born in Lundale, Logan County, WV to the
late Andrew Jackson and Ida (Adams) Jackson. In addition to her parents, she
	was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Lorenzo Lee Canady;
her daughter, Sandra Buckner; her sons, Ronnie Canady, Edward Buckner and
Samuel Buckner; sisters, Willie Mae Harper, Juanita Mason, Carrie Ambus and
Lena Whitley; brothers, Jimmy Jackson and Andrew Jackson, Jr.
She received her education from Lundale Elementary and
Buffalo High School in Logan County. She went on to attain her GED at OIC
where she trained to be a CNA. She was a Senior Adult Caregiver based out of
Pittsburgh, PA.  She was a retiree of Mildred Mitchell Bateman Hospital. She
participated in the Senior Program at Barnett Child Care Center by reading
to the children. She loved to crochet dolls; along with traveling, shopping
and cooking, she made the best macaroni and cheese on the planet. She
dressed herself in beautiful clothing with matching hats and jewelry.
Minnie was baptized at a young age in Cleveland, OH and
where she later became an Evangelist. She was a member of the Spurlock
Gospel Singing group that made gospel albums. She was a member of Allen
Chapel AOH Church and Christ Temple AOH Church.  However, for the last two
decades, she was a faithful member of the Glorious Church of God in Christ
where she served on the Mother Board, Missionary & WISW Auxilliaries. She
also served on the Hospitality Committee as a cook. She inspired and
ministered to the young women and men in the church and the community. She
loved sitting on her front porch; she would talk to and minister to the
young men in the Recovery Group as they walked passed her home each day.
TESTIMONY: Almost ten years ago, Minnie was walking along
20th Street in front of CVS Pharmacy and she was hit by a car that flipped
her up in the air and she landed on her head. The paramedics told her family
that she should have been died at the scene, but at the age of 80 years old,
she miraculously recovered. She is a true example of having faith in God as
a healer and miracle worker. We know now why she always loved the song, "God
Specializes in Things Impossible", because he did so much for her throughout
	her entire life.
Minnie is survived by her children: Delores Canady, Billie
Jean Fears, Stella (Ray) Fletcher, Ronnie (Teresa) Buckner, and Lorenzo
Canady, Jr. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Stella (Marvin) Canady,
Brian Canady, Ronell Buckner, Derek Buckner, Courtney Buckner and Samantha
Buckner; her great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; her sister,
Norma Jean Keith; her brother, James "Big Jack" Jackson; special niece and
nephew, Susette and Donald Simms, along with a host of nieces, nephews,
relatives and friends. We thank God for this gift of life and the many
blessed memories we will hold dear, forever.
Funeral services for Minnie will be conducted at 12 Noon
on Friday, February 28, 2020 at Glorious Church of God with Bishop Gary
Brydie, officiating.  Family will welcome friends at 11:00 A.M.  Burial will
follow at White Chapel Memory Gardens.
