    Harlan P. Johnson  
 
 
      
       Harlan P. Johnson, 85, of Huntington, widower of Louise T. 
      Johnson, passed away, Monday, April 7, 2008 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, 
      Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm Saturday, April 
      12, 2008 at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home, Huntington, with Rev. Jeremiah 
      Jasper officiating. He was born March 21, 1923 in Huntington, a son of the 
      late William and Ida Johnson. He served his country in the United States 
      Air Force. He was a clerk with the U.S. Postal Service and was also a 
      carpenter by trade and profession. He was a member of Ebenezer United 
      Methodist Church where his father was one of the founding members. In 
      addition to his wife he was preceded in death by two sons, Brian C. 
      Johnson and Harlan P. Johnson, Jr. Mr. Johnson is survived by two 
      daughters, Karen Johnson Coupet of Chicago, IL and Lesa Johnson of 
      Westwood, NJ; a son, Romaine Johnson of Huntington, WV; six grandchildren, 
      Margo Johnson Smith of Charlotte, NC, Kelly Johnson of Boston, MA, Edouard 
      Coupet, Jr. of Chicago, IL, Nicole Coupet of Chicago, IL, Hailey and 
      Heather Johnson of Edwardsville, IL; four great grandchildren, Silas 
      Johnson of Jacksonville, FL, Miles Johnson of Jacksonville, FL, Lewis 
      Smith of Charlotte, NC and Amber Smith of Charlotte, NC; one great-great 
      grandchild, Jordan Smith of Charlotte, NC, and a brother, Wendell Johnson 
      of Huntington Beach, CA. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, 
      cousins and friends. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until time of service 
      at the funeral home.
