Sandra Lee “Sandy” Stepp, 81, of
Huntington, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Paramount
Senior Living at Cabell Midland after a lengthy illness. Sandra was born in
Huntington to the late Theodore “Ted” and Eula Lee Bliffen. In 1957, she
married the late Robert “Bob” Stepp, also of Huntington. Shortly after their
marriage, they founded Creative Kitchens, one of Huntington’s oldest local
businesses. Later in life Sandra had a career in real estate with Old Colony
Realtors. Sandra’s children remember her as a loving mother who balanced her
time between home and work at the family business. As a talented artist,
Sandra enjoyed sharing her gifts with family and friends; whether it was
painting portraits of family members or creating an inviting home for
guests. Also a passionate cook, Sandra loved hosting parties for her many
friends and family. With no challenge too great, she could prepare an
authentic Kentucky Burgoo for fifty or a birthday celebration with careful
preparation of a “favorite” dish for the honoree of the day. Sandra also had
an eye for interior design and created many of the beautiful displays
throughout the showrooms at Creative Kitchens. As a member of the “Ladies 18
Hole” Group, Sandra loved played golf at Guyan Golf and Country Club. She
also enjoyed watching PGA golf and attending football games and tailgating
at any stadium where the Thundering Herd was playing. She rarely kept her
competitive streak in check during games with family or friends. Along with
her parents and her brother, William “Bill” Bliffen, Sandra was preceded in
death by her loving husband of 44 years, Bob “Bobby”.  Sandra is survived by
her sister, Constance “Connie” Fleming, who relocated from Louisville to
lovingly care for her in the early stages of her illness. She is also
survived by her children, Nancy L. (Mike) Rigney, Robert E. “Rob (Jeanne)
Stepp, Jr., and Lee Ann (Olaf) Rask; six grandchildren, Matt (Anne) Walters,
Todd (Shawn) Rigney, Ryan Stepp, Drew (Jessica) Rigney, Noah Rask and Lilli
Rask; eight great-grandchildren, Lauren, Natalie and Max Walters, Bryson,
Brady and Bryant Rigney, Addison Stepp and Luca Rigney. The family deeply
appreciates all of the caregivers at Paramount Senior Living as well as
Hospice of Huntington for their skills, gifts, love, kindness and blessings.
They are our angels. The family will receive visitors on Monday, September
10th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Beard Mortuary, Huntington. A Family service
will be held on Tuesday, September 11th beginning at 11:30 AM at Ridgelawn
    Memorial Park Mausoleum.
