Dr. William "Bill" V. Bell
(August 26, 1929 - April 12, 2018)

Dr. William “Bill” V. Bell, 88, of Huntington, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2018 at Woodlands Retirement Community in Huntington. Dr. Bell attended Marshall University, the University of Virginia and Temple University where he earned his dental degree. He then spent two years in the Air Force as a Lieutenant. Dr. Bell's dental career spanned 45 years and encompassed offices in Huntington, Teays Valley and Charleston. He was an avid Marshall fan and was a member of the MU Alumni Association. His passions were tinkering with his Model A Ford cars and growing roses. Dr. Bell was a lifetime member of 5th Ave. Baptist where he was instrumental in the foundation of the daycare at the church. He is survived by his wife, Vivian Bell of Huntington; sons, Dr. David (Ruth) Bell of Hurricane and Steven Bell of Milton; step-daughter, LuAnn Elkins of Lexington, KY, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held in his honor at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Woodlands Retirement Community in Huntington, with Rev. Eric Porterfield, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Dr. Bell’s honor to the American Diabetes Association or Hospice of Huntington.
