Obituary
Mary Lou Young
90 of Huntington, WV widow of Capt. Dana A. Young passed away on Monday
January 12, 2015. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at
Beard Mortuary with Rev. Eddie Houston officiating. Burial will follow at
Woodmere Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to
the service. She was born August 10, 1924 in Guyandotte, the daughter of the
late Webster and Adrienne Chapman Waugh. She was a graduate of Huntington
East High School. She was formerly employed by Appalachian Power, Anderson
Newcomb and Stone & Thomas. She was a former member of the Order of Eastern
Star Chapter 89, Guyandotte. She is survived by two sons and
daughters-in-law, Dana W. and Katie Young of Huntington and Charles A. “Gus”
and Betty Jo Young of Huntington; five grandchildren, Kelli R. (Jason) Riley
of Gales Ferry, CT; Ryan W. Young of Golden, CO; Adrienne L. Young of
Huntington; Madeline G. Young of Huntington and Heather M. (Bryan) Rudolph
of Charlotte, NC. Mary lived a long and full life and never met a stranger.
Later in her life she had a very special friend named Ellen Fontaine.
