Caldwell Building

The Caldwell Building on the NW corner of Fourth Avenue and Ninth Street in the early-1930s
 (note the streetcar tracks in the center of Fourth Avenue). The Caldwell Building was
 built in 1890 and housed Huntington's second Post Office in the late-1890s.

The building is actually three individual structures. The Edwardian façade was removed
and replaced with a metal Art Moderne veneer in 1937, and again in the
1960s, which destroyed much of the original architecture.

The building has since been restored, and is still in use today,
but is no longer listed on the Historic Register. The ground
floor is occupied by Schlotzsky's Deli, Gallery 842,
 and formerly Pet Palace, with offices above.
